Please can you explain some commonly used firewall terms?
Port: A port is a connection through which data is sent and received on the Internet. A port can either send and receive data in one direction at a time (simplex) or simultaneously in both directions (duplex). Security: This refers to techniques for ensuring that data stored in a computer cannot be read or compromised. Most security measures involve data encryption and passwords. Packet: A piece of a message transmitted over a packet-switching network. IP address: The IP address identifies a computer or device on a TCP/IP network. Networks using the TCP/IP protocol route messages based on the IP address of the destination. The format of an IP address is a 32-bit nEffect of the request, making the firewall page more generally compatible.
