Responsible Gaming Limits & Account Status
Will there be changes to my Responsible Gaming settings?
Your strictest existing limits, such as Responsible Gaming Deposit Limits, Wagering Limits & Session Time Limits (if applicable & enabled), will carry over to your new multi-state account. Additional details are listed below as some limits are state-specific, and some, cumulative across your entire multi-state account.
Example on Deposit Limits
If you have a weekly Responsible Gaming deposit limit of $500 and you make a $100 deposit in Maryland and a $200 deposit in Pennsylvania, followed by a deposit of $300 in Ohio all in the same week, the system will decline your final deposit and display a message that you have reached your limit, given that you have reached your now multi-state limit of $500.
For Wagering/Spending & Session Time limits, a configured limit will be enabled for each respective state. Below is an example:
Example on Wagering/Spending Limits
If you have a Wagering/Spending Limit of $100 dollars, you can play in each state until you reach that $100 limit. It is not cumulative across all states.
To access your limits, go to “Account > Settings > Responsible Gaming > Responsible Gaming Limits,” or click here.
What happens to my self-exclusion settings after my multi-state account is created?
If you self-exclude yourself in one state (either prior to or after the multi-state account launch), you will be unable to access BetMGM’s services in every other state.
For example:
- If you enter a self-imposed excluded period in one state, the same exclusion period status will automatically be applied in every state where you access BetMGM through your multi-state account.
- If you have different self-exclusion settings in multiple states, the longest self-exclusion period will now apply to your entire multi-state account.
What happens to my time-out settings after my multi-state account is created?
- If you enter a time-out period in one state, that same time-out period status will automatically be applied in every state where you access BetMGM through your multi-state account.
- If you have different time-out settings in multiple states, the longest time-out period will now apply to your entire multi-state account.
What happens to my service closure settings after my multi-state account is created?
- If you enter into a service closure agreement period in one state, the service closure agreement period will automatically be applied, on a per product basis (ex. Sports, Casino, or Poker), in every state where you access BetMGM through your multi-state account.
- Ex: If you enter a service closure agreement period in Virginia for our sports product, you will not be able to play sports in Wyoming.
- To access your exclusion preferences, go to “Account > Settings > Responsible Gaming” and choose your desired category.
What happens if one of my state’s accounts is suspended by BetMGM?
If BetMGM has suspended your account, that status and restriction will then carry over to all states in your multi-state account.
